I started as a permitted septic designer (#1873) and installer (#5324) in New Hampshire, then spent close to three years at NHDES — first as a state septic system inspector, then on the outreach and education team for the Land Resources Management Bureau's Water Division. That combination gives me a working knowledge of the regulations from the inspection side and a clear sense of how NHDES communicates its rules and expectations to designers and installers statewide.
